To My Dad

I remember u said when I was 4, Be good n do good n nothing more Life is a mixture of sweet n sour Smile- is only thing that we can pour U said this when I was 4. I remember the radio that u fixed, Fallen in a corner, when I was six Evil is what the idle mind picks Now, I play with books, pens and glue sticks U said “No- to idle” when I was six. I remember u said do not play out, I stared at you and dared to shout Just 12, dint shut my moth Good words are what still u plough U said- to protect me- is your oath I remember u said, life is how u live I was 18 and freedom u ought to give U were scared, I saw it in your eyes I may break- that u knew, this world- Just know to take but not give Perhaps! Dear Father, I still live I remembered every teaching that u did I may have failed, because of ignorance This same world is now my aid I remember Dad, U Love Me- U said. Dear Dad, Your Daughter remembers every sweet memories spent with you. I live with pride because i live with the principal u gave.Thank you. With love Shakila R Makandar
